$197 Full TuitionEven if you've convinced yourself that you're not good with color. There is no way you can figure out how to combine those scrappy bits into something beautiful. Or more intimidating still, that it will end up with one more UFO you never want to see again.
I KNOW, I KNOW: YOU'VE TAKEN CLASSES ON COLOR, VALUE AND DESIGN. YET YOU STILL FEEL YOUR NOT QUITE GETTING IT.
I'm glad you took the class. You picked up some good tips. Let's build on them. And take your skills to the next level.
The truth is most scrappy exploders don't realize that there is a lot for your brain to take in at an event class or lecture. You are meeting new people. There are tons of new ideas to digest. Even with the best note taking some things get lost. That's a MASSIVE PROBLEM! Because the lack of being able to feel confident in your fabric and design choices once you get home makes students- probably like you- feel they could never design their own quilt. That they are not good enough or creative enough so they buy a kit and recreate someone else's work.

Let's talk about the most common reasons Scrappy Explorers to be don't design their own quilts.
Reason 1: YOU ARE NOT GOOD WITH COLOR
That colorful mountain of scraps can be intimidating. There are bright bits, muted pieces and everything in between. How did I know what goes with what?
Reason 2: YOU WERE NEVER THE ARTISTIC ONE
Modern scrap quilts are full of color and pattern. How do I know what to put where? Forget that you dress yourself every day. You combine color, prints and style every morning before you head out for your day. I'm betting you look pretty good. Yet you've convinced yourself designing a scrap quilt requires more skill than it takes a kindergartener to get dressed each morning.
Reason 3: YOU ARE VERY BUSY
A day job, family, housework... your make time to follow a pattern. But designing a whole quilt. Won't that takes hours, and hours to figure out. You would love your quilts to be unique. It would be fun to create and play. But following a pattern is so much easier, for the time you have
SERIOUSLY!: THESE ARE JUST EXCUSES. HERE'S A SECRET! NOT EVERYTHING YOUR BRAIN TELLS YOU IS TRUE. I KNOW TRYING NEW THINGS IS HARD. PLUS MANY OF US HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW FUN DOING OUR OWN THING CAN BE. OR HOW RELAXING A LITTLE CREATIVE PLAY CAN BE.
For some reason, we find it easier to listen to our brain's lies. To keep the status quo. Let's tap into our younger self. Rebel in a good way. Create something beautiful. And show our brain what is possible.

Sue's Tie Dyed Sheep
Sue used my Tie Dyed Sheep as a starting point. She made it mini by shrinking the size of the sheep and creating her own lettering.
I love how Sue takes a quilt and makes it mini. Here skill at working with itty bitty pieces amazes me. She does this with every quilt she has make in one of my classes. It's here super power.
What will your super power be? Take the skills you learn in the class. Be prepared to be amazed by what you find out. I can't wait to see what you discover.

Laura's Free Form Garden
What she said about the process.
"This quilt is a show stopper! From a distance, the unique “fabric” drew my attention from all the other quilts displayed.
On closer inspection, I loved how interesting it was, the details of the many different fabrics and differing colors all in distinct hues of green and pinks.
The process of “making fabric” was new to me. I really enjoyed sewing scraps together to make a unique one-of-a-kind fabric. Free- form quilt making allows for a “no wrong way” to create/make your fabric"
I'm so excited to see the quilts you will design and create.
